How fast the planets move is also more of an astronomy matter. They are not really going backwards, it is just 'apparent' to us that they seem to be, and we reflect on that for astrological analysis. Go to a bookstore and try to find an astrology book with ephemeris guide, and it will explain all these questions you've been asking tonight.
