What do you think of the new zodiac sign ophiuchus?

WHat do you think about the new zodiac sign?? now it changes pretty much everyones horoscope readings... i was a gemeni now im a taurus?? so would this put horoscopes to rest because people have been looking at their wrong sign the entire time?? what do people who believe in horoscopes think of this new addition?|||About the new zodiacs:

This is not new. It is Sidereal Astrology. Astronomers use the Sidereal zodiac, and Eastern cultures use it also.

Western astrology uses the Tropical zodiac. Your OLD sign (which really isn't) is your Western sign. These NEW signs (which have been around for several thousand years) are the Sidereal signs. Either is accurate and can be used. It is your choice on how you wish to label yourself.

Astrologers have known about all this for years. It is nothing new.

Here is your Western zodiac: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_ast鈥?/a>

Here is your Sidereal zodiac: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidereal_as鈥?/a>

If you want to stay the same sign, follow Western Astrology.

If you want to follow the "new" sign (which isn't but has been around for 100s of years) follow Vedic or Sidereal Astrology.

Nothing has changed except some astronomer wanted to get his name in the media and be famous for something that everyone who studies astrology already knew. Astrologers have been familiar with this concept for years

You can get a Western natal chart at http://www.astro.com. You can get a free Sidereal chart at http://www.zodiacal.com/chart.htm.|||You are mistaking astronomy for astrology. The two are not the same.

In astrology, there are NO new sign changes. There TWO different systems of zodiacs, and there have been for 2,000 years.

One system is the Tropical system used by Western astrology ... and therefore by YOU too. This system does not change. In this system, you are STILL a Gemini. There are no new signs and no dates changes for signs, and it doesn't matter if someone is born in 2000 or 2015, or whether they are born near the equator or near one of the poles ... nothing changes.

In this system, the point of the Spring Equinox is always 0-degrees of Aries, regardless of the year. And if you were born 45 days after the Spring Equinox (i.e. May 4th), you will ALWAYS have Sun at 15 Taurus, whether you were born in 0 AD, 2000 AD, or 4000 AD.

The other system is the Sidereal system used by Hindu/Vedic astrology. This system changes very slowly ... it takes 2,160 years for the Spring Equinox to move all the way through one sign and into another. They don't use 13 signs because they "absorb" that the width of that 13th sign artificially into the other signs. Even with THIS system, which DOES change, the Hindu astrologers keep up with the change. So if you were born 45 days after the Spring Equinox, you will have:

- in 0 AD = Sun in 15 Taurus

- in 2000 AD = Sun in 20 Aries (if you are born with Sun at 20 Aries, it will only have moved to 19 Aries by the time you die!)

- in 4000 AD = Sun in (approximately) 23 Pisces

ALL that happened is that some ASTRONOMER pointed out that there are two different systems, and those who didn't know that freaked out.

For those who think there are new sign changes ... I would advise you to learn the basics of astrology, because it is obvious that you don't know them. The net result of this is that those who are interested in astrology will learn more about it, and become MORE interested.|||I think its fine...I'm an Ophiuchus, used to be a Sagittarius, but the personality of the 13th sign seems to suit me more. I do think it's pretty funny that apparently the lucky number for Ophiuchus is 12 and I was born of the 12th of the 12th. personally I don't believe the sign is BS either, based on my readings is seems that the sign has been around for quite some time now.

For all the people that changed signs, maybe your personality doesn't fit into your new sign very well...but really there's no need to get angry over it. I've been reading way to many angry comments on answers and on other websites about their sign change and 'how it doesn't' fit them at all'. It's really not a huge deal if your horoscope doesn't predict your day exactly because of the sign change. Just stick with your old sign if you don't like the change.

And no, i don't think it's going to put horoscopes to rest, they might just add the new sign in, that's all. People are still going to read their horoscopes, new sign or not.|||I think its the lamest thing i've ever heard of. This is not the Tropical Zodiac though, which is the one we all know and use. so really it doesn't apply unless you want to go by it. From what i've been told, its a type of Astrology more specific to the star placements within or around your constellation. The Tropical Zodiac is not being replaced by this other system however.|||You can read all the personality traits and behavior of ophiuchus on this page

http://theunexplainedmysteries.com/13th-鈥?/a>|||The 13th Zodiac Sign is very old, the Chinese knew of it many centuries ago, the Earth has tilted upon it's AXIS enough fo it to be visible again...|||its not "NEW" its actually older than your great, great, great, great grandfather who's name is probably Andy now go play.|||I can't dwell on something that doesn't exist.|||forget it.
